Work At Home Mums: Creating Time For You






     I wondered if this matter would be worthy of a whole article, but it's an vital issue in the lives of work at home mums which is typically ignored. I've typically included in prior material the value of getting a healthy lifestyle and good balance between work and life, with smart eating habits, exercice, time to rest and to have fun. Though we are all aware of the advantages of having such equilibrium, we often priorise work and our children, only to find ourselves with no time left to take care of ourselves.

Allocating some time for activities which bring energy, relaxation and fun is easy, in theory. Most of us probably make new resolutions frequently around new healthy habits. Sadly, these typically fade out or don't happen at all. Thus I have identified the three things which, together, make a strong map for establishing and sustaining the activities which can help work at home mums be productive, focused, relaxed and healthy.

Firstly, determine your activities. Which ones relax you? Which activities make you feel centered and energised? What do you prefer to do for fun? Who do you enjoy to be with? What do you wish to do to stay fit and healthy? Whether it's a bath, a dinner out, reading, sport, meditation, taking a long lunch, dancing, walking, sleeping or having a family picnic, work at home mums should select the preferred activities which they can integrate in their weekly routine. If you're hardly carrying out any activity of these types, it may be easier to begin with one and include more on as you effectively make them habits.

Secondly, commit! One of my favorite words (which also appears to come out so much in my material). Unless you've decided that you will commit to creating time for the activities you require to recuperate and refresh, you are unlikely to integrate them in your long-term routine. A great aspect about commitment is that it will help you maintain your new routine long enough to actually experience the benefits, along with helping you to form habits. Work at home mums who have created a habit of these replenishing activities also do them without feeling that they're stealing time off carrying out more important things like working, looking after the house or their children.

Thirdly, merge them in your schedule (and carry them out!). This is when commitment is so important. Schedules are great for work at home mums, particularly if they are followed! However if your other critical commitments take over your scheduled 'me-time', you won't produce those routines and reap the benefits of looking after yourself. Worse even, it might have a negative impact on your whole productivity, drive and general feeling of happiness. And bear in mind, it doesn't take much; twenty minutes per day can do pure wonders to your spirit, body and mind.

This is such an easy system to follow, yet without following all three steps work at home mums have a tendency to forget their own needs, all for the perceived benefit to their family and business or work. In conclusion, being relaxed, happy, focused, positive and full of energy will help you generate better results in everything you do. twenty minutes per day: commit, create habits and enjoy!
