How to Be Successful in Business and Life

Achieving success in business and life is something that most business owners strive to aim for. There are no shortcuts, but there are things you can do to make your journey easier.

Design your vision: What does success in both business and life hold for you?
Picture how your life looks like if you would be successful on your terms. Be aware to include all life areas that are important for you, such as family, friends, vitality, finance, spirituality and off course your business.
Life Balance: Achieving a work/life balance is important from the word go. Many small business owners fall into the trap of spending every waking hour on their business, while the rest of their life falls apart. Doing this will not make you happy and it won't make you successful.

Role models: Choosing a good role model is a great way to keep you on track to business success. Just make sure that you choose someone who is successful in business and life. A multi-millionaire who has had six failed marriages, two heart attacks, and no social life is not the right role model for you, no matter how rich and successful they appear on the outside.
Passion and values: If you started your chosen business based on the amount of money you could make alone, it will not be enough to enable you to achieve success in business and life. Your chosen business should embrace your passions and values. Passion is a tricky subject to define.
Not all successful business owners are passionate about their product or service. Some are passionate about the positive effects their business has on consumers, others are passionate about delivering great customer service. No matter what your reasons are, make sure you choose a business that is right for you.

Surround yourself with successful people: Are you surrounded by successful people in your business and life? If most of the people around you are negative and lacking in ambition, they will begin to wear you down. It's difficult to feel positive when you're surrounded by doom and gloom. Seek successful people to socialize and network with and you will soon find yourself becoming more successful too.
If you don't know where to find positive and successful people, join business groups, network on and offline, and take up new hobbies and activities. The idea of doing all these new things may be daunting to begin with, but breaking out of your comfort zone will automatically make you feel more confident and successful.

And finally, let go of perfection!
Life is not about being perfect, but about growing, developing yourself and constantly improve on every area. There is a saying: Sloppy success is better than perfect mediocrity. So start enjoying whatever you are doing, in both your business and life.
