Classy Happy Hour

4 o'clock is quickly approaching and you're starting to get hungry and thirsty. Naturally, you start to think about where you and your friends are going to go for happy hour today. Yes, you could go to your regular spot that serves beer for peanuts, but today you feel like going to a nicer place that. You also want to be able to go to a place that would be able to impress clients or your significant other in the future... but where to go?

Inexpensive bar hang-outs that serve mediocre fare abound in the city, but if you're interested in a little fancier then you're going to have to do a little investigating. The way I see it, there's really only two types of 'fancy', the kind where fancier restaurants open up their bar area up to the mostly loud and obnoxious masses by lowering their standards and the kind of fancy where their food, drink, service and ambiance stays as it should.

If classy is what you're after, then there's really only one choice in town. Find a Prime Steakhouse in your city. Typically, these establishments offer the best wine, food, and ambiance in your city. Their selection of wines are probably going to be vast, their food will be nothing less than fine and the ambiance will be classy and quiet enough to carry on a comfortable conversation. My particular prime steakhouse of choice in my city serves incredible wines, specialty drinks and beers from all over the world and never compromises. The wine list here is amazing, with wines from every wine region in the world, but my favorite wines are the ones from Chile and California. For specialty drinks, I've been recently introduced to the Moscow Mule, which is a cocktail made with vodka, ginger beer and lime and is served in a fancy copper cup! I was told that this drink was very popular during the vodka craze in the United States during the 1950s. Other popular drinks here are the Manhattan, a cocktail made with whiskey, sweet vermouth and bitters, and the always shaken martinis!

The restaurant opens its bar at 4pm, offers its appetizers at 4.30pm and begins serving its full menu at 5pm. Some of their best appetizers are the seafood stuffed mushrooms, the wasabi seared tuna and their shrimp remoulade! Stay until after 5 and order the best dishes in the city, such as their enormous bone-in ribeye that can be complemented with the delicious jalapeno mac & cheese, roasted garlic mashed potatoes and/or creamed spinach. The lobsters are simply divine and can be paired with any steak to create the best surf and turf combo you've ever had. Save room for dessert, because you'll want to have their world famous bread pudding with Maker's Mark sauce!

So, there's my recommendation, when you want the best wine, food, and classy and quiet ambiance in your city, go find yourself a great local prime steakhouse. I just hope you have as good of an overall experience as I have had with my version.
